User Code

Your user code is a unique number, which is allocated to you by our system. By using this code our system keeps track of the units you have purchased and your progress through these units. BE CAREFUL NOT TO LOSE YOUR USER CODE or you will not be able to access your information.

We recommend that you print out your user code and keep it in a safe place. www.learnhairdressing.com holds no financial responsibility for lost user codes.

What type of computer do I need to view this presentation?

We recommend a minimum of a Pentium PC or better, or a 100MHz Macintosh PowerPC or better. We also recommend at least 32 MB of RAM.

It would also be a good idea to have access to a printer to print out any certificates you may gain.

Can I make the presentation easier to see?

If you are using Internet Explorer 5, try pushing the F11 key. This will temporarily remove the bottom tool bar and allow you fit more on screen. Press the F11 key again to bring back you bottom tool bar.

Try changing your screen mode to a higher resolution. We recommend 800 by 600 or better.

What do I need to do to sit the final assessment?

You need to pass all the progress assessment questions at the end of the performance criteria for that particular Unit. Once you have completed all the progress assessment questions the final assessment is unlocked.

What happens if I pass the final assessment?

Once you pass the final assessment you will have the option of printing a certificate to show that you have completed and demonstrated competency for this unit of work.

The presentation material will become locked again

What happens if I fail the final assessment?

You need to answer every question correctly to pass the final assessment. If you do make a mistake, you will need to try again. There is no limit to the number of attempts you can make - we recommend you re-read the material, perhaps making notes of keypoints. You also need to pay attention to spelling. Be aware that there is a 'bank' of questions - so you may not be asked the same question again.

I have a Registered User Code but I still can't view all of the Units?

You can only view units that you have purchased.

How long are the presentations?

The length of presentation depends on the number of performance criteria with each element or unit. The more performance criteria the longer the presentation. An element with, say, two or three performance criteria may take an hour or two to complete, whereas a unit with 4, 5 or more performance criteria may take considerably longer. They are very good value.

If I am slow or run out of time can I exit and come back later?

Sure, of course you can. Once you have paid to unlock a presentation it is yours to view as many times as you like. You may take as long as you like to complete it. Just come back into the site and enter your user code.

The unit will only become locked again once you have passed the final assessment. You may like to bookmark the site www.learnhairdressing.com to make it easy to come back too. Note: you cannot bookmark from inside the "Flash" presentations.

Is it possible to cheat?

It may be. But it is only yourself you are cheating. You must be honest with yourself. I certainly don't mind you sharing knowledge with your friends or discussing possible answers. "Networking" and sharing knowledge is all part of the learning process. However, you certainly cannot share the certificate of competency with your friends, as it will only be made out in the name of the user ID code. I'm sure your friends would like to complete their own assessments to gain their certificate of competency.

How should I tell my friends about this site?

You could send them an email including the web address www.learnhairdressing.com in the message. When they click on the link it should take them directly to the site.

Will there be more presentations coming on line?

Yes there will. Eventually there will be 20 presentations covering all four levels of learning. These will be put on within a very short time. By the time you have completed what is available at present there should be new presentations for you to gain certificate of competencies in. Check the site frequently.

Have the presentations accreditation?

The material has been taken from sources, which have been moderated and accredited. The presentations meet and cover industry standards set for content and assessment criteria.

I entered an answer that I consider correct. The computer disagrees!

If you are sure that your answer is correct and the computer marks it wrong, you may submit your answer to www.learnhairdressing.com. To make a submission we require the UNIT, the QUESTION being asked and YOUR ANSWER. Please provide your answer in full.

www.learnhairdressing.com will consider your answer and make changes if required. www.learnhairdressing.com decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
